2023 Grand Prize Winner

CranioSense

Boston-based startup, CranioSense was awarded the grand prize of $50,000 and legal services for developing IPASS, an intracranial pressure assessment and screening technology that measures intracranial pressure in seconds, without the need to drill a hole in the skull or insert a sensor into the brain.

2022 Grand Prize Winner

NEPTUNYA Ocean Power

NEPTUNYA Ocean Power, based out of Boca Raton, Florida, took home the grand prize for OCTOPODZ, a technology to unlocks offshore renewable energy. Their offshore wind turbine drastically lowers energy costs through reduced weight and a floating design that eliminates the need for a separate foundation substructure. The invention could dramatically increase renewable energy adoption by power companies and other energy consumers.

SPKL

Technology created by a USF College of Engineering team to precisely measure blood flow in the body’s tissues — allowing for more accurate medical assessments of strokes, brain injuries and a wide range of diseases.

2020 Grand Prize Winner

Nutrivert

A company commercializing antibiotic replacement technologies developed by and with Auburn University researchers was the first to win outside of Florida.

Anchor Biologics

Develops tissue-anchoring drugs to ensure the right dose goes to the right place for the right amount of time.
